Trust and safety
Built to protect the people who take part
Unity studies gather personal and sometimes sensitive views. Here is how we look after participants, their data and the quality of what we report.
Consent first
Every participant sees plain-language information about the study and agrees before the conversation begins. They can stop at any time.
Taking part anonymously
On the secure web channel, people can take part without giving their name. Their views still count in the analysis.
Anonymised reporting
Anonymised reports hide any group of fewer than five people, along with any findings that could point to them, so no one can be identified.
Data protection by design
We complete a data protection impact assessment for every study, and agree with you the lawful basis, who can see what, and how long data is kept, before anyone is invited.
Secure hosting
Conversations and reports are stored on secure cloud infrastructure in Europe, with access restricted to the people who need it.
Checked before launch
Built-in quality checks confirm each study asks the right questions and will produce the report you need, before it goes live.
How we use AI
Unity's analysts use advanced AI models to hold conversations and analyse what people say. AI does the listening and organising. People stay in charge of the study.
- You approve the conversation design and consent wording before launch
- Our team reviews every study set-up and every final report
- Reports show participants' own words so you can see the evidence behind each finding
- Participant memory between conversations is off unless the participant agrees
Unity is
- A research and insight service
- A way to hear from people in their own words
- A source of evidence for your decisions
Unity is not
- A medical device or clinical tool
- A source of diagnosis, treatment or care advice
- A replacement for formal incident reporting, grievance or safeguarding processes
Experience you can rely on
Our team has taken digital health products through full NHS assurance, including the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria, clinical safety and penetration testing. We bring the same discipline to every Unity study.
